In January 2020 tenants vacated the Cottage at 27 Morley Road. The
reason for the tenants leaving was that there was still a damp
problem. Prokil carried out an inspection and recommended that the
affected walls be relined with plasterboard and then plastered and
decorated. This work was carried out fully by Prokil at a cost of
£3900.IJ). The Letting Agent sucessfully found new tenants after 2
months with an increase in rent of £800 per month.
A new gas boiler was installed in the deaf centre. It was proposed by
the Trustees that we purchase 8 new GoPak folding tables at a cost
of £680. Covid 19 and Lockdown meant we were unable to continue
face to face meetings. All hiring of rooms in the deaf centre were
cancelled until further notice and this meant lose of income until the
end of the year
During the Lockdown it was decided to decorate all rooms on ground
floor and first floor at a cost of £2165.00 At the same time it was
agreed to revamp the snooker room. This meant dismantling and
disposing of full size snooker table - new flooring- rewiring - new

sockets and lighting- new blinds- plaster ceiling. This room would
be available for social club with all new comfortable tub chairs and
also be used for sign language classes . New toilets were also
installed. Cost expected to revamp snooker room to be £3000+
A new Zip Boiler was installed in the kitchen to replace broken zip
boiler for £1460
Due to Covid 19 The Trustees arranged for the deaf centre to be
covid 19 protected. Hand sanitizers were installed throughout the
centre + bacterial wipes and sprays + blue paper + dividing plastic
screens + all the necessary covid notices.
Trustees agreed to install new wooden double gates as access to rear
patio area
First Floor of deaf centre - 3 new double glazed windows were
installed £1984.00
All Trustees agreed to make a donation of £1500 to Wiltshire and
Dorset Deaf Association who organise all the sign language classes at
the deaf centre.
During one of our whats app on line meeting5 we were aware that
we would be incurring large expenses throughout the year, 50
decided to transfer £25000.00 from Canada Life investments to
cover expenses for 2020 and 2021 and any loss of income during
covid lockdown in 2020 and 2021
