Thecharitybelieveseducationandtrainingopenupopportunitiesforindividualselfdevelopmentthat enables
peopletotakemorecontrolovertheirlives.Itseesitselfasanimportantinnovatorintheprocessandwill provide
thenecessaryskillbase,friendly/familyenvironmentandprofessionalapproachthatenablelearnersto feel
comfortableinthisenvironmentsotheycanmaximisetheirpotential.Italso,asacommunityowned organisation,
makesitselfaccountabletoalllocalresidents.Ourvisionisofalocalcommunityinwhichallpeople are
encouragedtobecomeactivelifelonglearnersandnooneisdeterredfrombenefitingfromthecourses which
are on offer, for any reason.

OurareaofbenefitistheManorCastleWard ofSheffieldandSheffieldasawhole,whichisanareaofoverhalf a
million people. Each year we publicise what is on offer widely.

Althoughwechargeforsomecourses,peopleonJSAandESA(WRAG)stillreceivefreetraining,andunder the
FreedomandFlexibilitiesgovernmentagenda,providerscanusetheirdiscretiononchargingfeesforlearners in
receiptofotherbenefitsdependentonwhethertheyareseekingemployment.Feepayinglearnerscan be
referred,whereappropriate,tolocallearnerfunds,whichcanbeaccessed.Theseareavailableforpeople who
live or work in the area, and also for young people.

Thebuildingwheredeliveryofcoursestakesplacehasdisabledaccessgivingaccesstoall.Coursesare mainly
held in school term time but we can meet learner demand and deliver to learners at other times.

Accreditedcoursesallleadtonationallyrecognisedqualificationstohelppeoplegaintheskillstoaccess further
educationoremployment.Allnon-accreditedcourseshaveprogressionroutes.Thecompanyhasrobust equal
opportunities policy, which is regularly reviewed.

Thetrusteesconfirmthattheyhavecompliedwiththerequirementsofsection4oftheCharitiesAct 2022to have
due regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

TheBoardofDirectorshavereviewedthecharity'sneedsforreservesinlinewithguidanceissuedbythe Charity
Commission,inlightofthemainriskstotheorganisation.Thecharityhasunrestrictedfreereservesof £301,795
(2023-£362,152).Thisapproximatelycoversmorethan17monthsrunningcosts,asthebudgetedexpenditure for
2024 - 2025 is £246,517. The reserves are needed to meet the working capital requirements of the charity.

the company are the enrolled body of learners and users who are residents in the Sheffield Ward district of Manor.
