The Shelter Housln8 Advice and Research Project (L8lc•st•r). known as SHARP, was establlshed as an Independent tharftsble
trust by members of the Lelcester Shelter Group In 1974. It Was Incorporated as a cornpany Ilmlted by 8uarantee In 1990.
2024 was therefore our 50th annfversary year. Thls In Itself Is a very cons]dernble •chlevemenL 20 years 380. there were
Independent Hous1￿ Advlce Centres operatln8 In Brlghton. Derby, Gloucester, Klrklee4 Lelcester, Oxford, North Yorkshlre.
Nottln8ham, and Taunton. Despfte the Increase In housln8 need In the Intervenlng perlod only Brl8hton, Klrkleos and
Lelcester have been able to Sustain themselves. We are very woud of th• rontlnuous servke we hm been able to provlde
to the people of Lelcester. Leicest•r5hlr•, and Rutland for ovv 50 ye•

becomln8 homeless. If thls 15 not posslble, we alm to help people to flnd another home. Slnce October 2013 we have
recorded and monltored thls actmty uslng a we&b¥s￿ casework management pro8ramme called 'Advlce-Prrf. Thls
pro8ramme has been des*ned by Athlce UK the n•tlon•l umbr•ll• body for advlce seNlce provlders. SHARP Is a member of
Advlce UL 'AdvictrPrd Is wularfy updated and Is fulty compllant wlth the ￿quIrernents of the General Dats Protertton
Re8ulatlons.
Durln8 the couvse of 20W25 we were able to provlde thls 5er¥lce to 607 new dlentg. In the prevlous year ￿ were able to
pro￿de our servlce to 565 new dlerrts. This modest In(Te•se of Just over n6 In the number of new cllents we were able to
help I￿¢¢ts the contlnulty of the services we ar• abl• to provlde.

2021. our new p•rt-tlme Mental Health Support Workx commen¢•d work wlth our dlents. post ￿4S funded for two
years. Unfortunatety. thls fundlng was not rene￿?￿. However, desplt• thls dlsappolntmenL SHARP has been able to secure
onBolng mentsl health supportfor our cllents.

additlonal 'matched fundln8' of approxlmately £155￿24 has been pledged to SHARP by Leicester Soclal Economy
