-
Following a 2016 visit to Bangalore by Mr Robert Harvey of Lincoln, trustees created an additional UK Charity Commission approved ‘ working name’ – ‘ Escape from Poverty’ - to raise much needed funds to support Family Development Services (an Indian Charitable Trust). FDS provides education to children from the slums of Bangalore who, ordinarily, would receive none at all. www.escapefrompoverty.org.uk
-
Trustees believe education is one of very few routes out of Indian poverty.
-
During 2020/21 trustees financially sponsored the education of 19 young children from the slums of Bangalore.
Summation.
Trustees continue to validate requests for support before making grants or donations and incurring expenditure, especially where potential recipients are based overseas.
Trustees are hugely grateful to all who donate or voluntarily raise funds for the Trust’s support activities.
Everyone involved with The Huxham Charitable Trust is a volunteer - nobody receives any payment for their services.
